Did the migration assistant worked for you guys? I had used carbon copy cloner in the past to duplicate the hd to a new machine, and that worked well (apart from some licenses that got invalidated, and I had to redo them). Carbon Copy Cloner When I migrated my data from my old iMac to the new one, I used Time Machine to do it and it worked well. The only thing you need to remember when migrating that way is NOT to create an account on the new iMac as the migration assistant will do that for you. When I sold my old Powerbook, I ran Carbon Copy Cloner and cloned the HD of the old Powerbook to an external FW drive. Then, when I finally got my new PB (I was powerbook-less for about a week), I ran the migration assistant and plug in the FW drive - it imported all the setting flawlessly. Note: to learn more about the Migration Assistant, please see this page. When you’re finished migrating your data, follow any remaining prompts for the Setup Assistant to finish that process. If you’re using Carbon Copy cloner, you can connect that disk to the host computer.
